YOKE SHALL BE DESTROYED
By Jemima Rayan
Yoke is something that is causing
a burden in our shoulders. God promises in Is 10:27 that, '...the
yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil'. The
enemy is the troublemaker. But Jesus is the deliverer. He wants
to deliver you and set you free.
One of the rulers of the synagogue
by name Jairus came to Jesus and begged Him earnestly to come
and lay His hands of his daughter that she may be healed. But
on His way, something amazing happened!
There was this woman who had
a flow of blood for twelve years. Read
Mark 5:25-34. There are many lessons to be learned in this
passage.
1. The
need of the woman:
She had tried all remedies possible
for her healing but her condition grew worse. She was in need
of a miracle. 'She had suffered
many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had
and was no better, but rather grew worse' (Mark 5: 26).
Have you been in a position where
you have felt helpless in this world? If that is so then, this
message is for you. May be this woman was treated by the best
gynecologists.
There is someone for whom nothing
is impossible. His name is JESUS. You can come to Him no matter
who you are. You can come to Him no matter how bad your situation
is. He is the one who meets us at the point of our greatest need.
2. What
did the woman do:
She took a step of faith. That
is where the miracle begins. The woman was so desperate that she
pressed through the crowd that was mocking her. Her need to be
met was much greater than what was happening around her. When
she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched
His garment. For she said, "If only I may touch His clothes,
I shall be made well" (vs. 27 and 28).
That is what exactly we must
do. We should come boldly to His presence and say words filled
with faith. She had to say 'I shall
be made well' before she could be made well. Jesus
said, 'Daughter, your faith has made you well' (vs 34).
Never get bogged down by the words of people and the words of
Satan. But let faith rise up in your heart and go for your miracle!
Jesus is the rewarded of your faith.
3. Her faith demanded a miracle:
There is a great difference between
a mere touch and a faith-filled touch. Jesus knew who touched
Him. The faith-filled touch demands a blessing. Jesus
said,' Go in peace and be healed of your affliction' (Mk
5:34) Her healing was a result of a great and persistent faith.
When the ill woman touched the hem of the garment of Jesus, her
body began to respond to the anointing that was upon Jesus.
Jesus is well able to heal and
deliver you from any kind of affliction. But the bottom line is,
He is looking for faith in order for the miracle to be set in
motion. It doesn't really matter how big our problem is. Our God
is bigger than any problem we might face. Just draw near Him in
faith. Jesus can see your faith.
4. She touched the hem of Jesus'
garment:
She coupled her faith with action.
A piece of cloth could become a channel by which God's power flows.
There is nothing special about the clothes of Jesus. Any cloth
could become a conduit for the anointing.
Paul's clothing became a conduit
for the anointing. The Bible declares, 'God
worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs
or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases
left them and the evil spirits went out of them' (Acts
19:11,12).
Psalm 133 talks about the anointing.
It says 'when we dwell in unity,
it is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the
beard, running down on the edge of the garments'. For there the
Lord commanded the 'blessing'. The secret is that there
is a miracle attached to the anointing.
5. Why did Jesus heal the woman:
Actually when you look at the
situation, Jesus stopped on the way to Jairus' house to heal this
woman with an issue of blood. Jesus did not get mad at her but
delayed His mission to the home of the ruler of the synagogue.
There could be several reasons why Jesus had to make a stop in
between.
The first reason why Jesus stopped
to heal the woman suffering for 12 years could be that He wanted
the woman to come into a relationship with Him. Jesus wanted her
to publicly confess her faith
The second reason could be that
Jesus wanted faith in Jairus' heart to receive healing for his
daughter. She was a 12-year-old girl. Jesus took time to minister
to the woman with a persistent faith. Jesus was in effect teaching
Jairus to be bold and stand what he is believing for and not be
deterred by situations or the discouraging words of people.
The third reason could be that
Jesus wanted God to be glorified. He does everything to glorify
God the father. Jesus came into this world to glorify His father
in Heaven.
Let every burden be removed and
every yoke destroyed by the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
