THE NAME OF JESUS

The very last words of Jesus in this earth, was about 'His name'. The last words of any person usually carry much weight. If Jesus could talk about using His name, then we understand there is so much importance in the name of Jesus.

Jesus said, in Mark 16:17, 'And these signs will follow those who believe: In my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.'

Power in the name of Jesus:

The name of Jesus is much more powerful than we could ever comprehend. There is far greater power in the name of Jesus than we have yet realized. When an adversity hits, you do not have to quote every single scripture. Just the mention of His name will do. Tell the sickness to leave in the name of Jesus. Tell the enemy to get out in the name of Jesus.

There is a sweet song that reads:

"In the very thought of Jesus, His presence can be found
He's as close as the mention of His name
There is never any distance between My Lord and me
He's as close as the mention of His name"

Revelation 19:13 says, 'His name is called the Word of God'. So, when the evil one tries to put sickness and disease on your loved one, just cast him out in the name of Jesus. When the enemy tries to steal your finances, cast him out in the name of Jesus. When the enemy tries to show up, call the name of the Lord. That is like throwing all that is in the Word of God at his face. Do you think he will stay there for another moment? No, never. The devil knows that power that is in the name of Jesus. He will flee from you.

John 14:13 and 14 says, 'And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name I will do it'. This verse talks about what the Lord will do when we ask. In Jesus Name, is more than the phrase at the end of prayer. The name of Jesus has Lordship over all the other names. All that God is and does is represented in the name of Jesus.

In Philippians 2: 5-11, the apostle Paul tells us, "God also hath highly exalted him {Jesus} and given Him a name which is above every name".

I have heard many well meaning Christians pray in the name of Jesus and they say: I hope He hears that prayer. I hope God hears my prayer. That is not faith. They do not realize the kind of power that goes with the Name of Jesus, the name above all names.

Word or deed:

Colossians 3:17 says, 'And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him'.

When we say anything in the name of Jesus, all that He is, is made manifest to us. When we do anything in the name of Jesus, the power that is in the name of Jesus comes in the picture. Therefore, Paul admonishes us to do in word or deed, in the name of Jesus. The mighty anointing that is in the name of Jesus will be made available to us. Isn't that something! Begin to use the name of Jesus realizing that there is power in the name of Jesus.

When a Word-abiding Christian uses the name of Jesus, there is power. Begin to exercise your God given authority in Jesus mighty name.

You name is forever changed:

When you and I made Jesus our Lord and Savior, when we entered the blood covenant with Jesus, our old name passed away and we have got the name of Jesus on us.

Ephesians 3:15 says, 'From whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named'. Family is a word that has its roots in God. In an earthly sense, when a girl gets married, her last name changes usually. She takes the name of her husband. In the same way, when we come into the family of God according to John 1:12, our name also changes for the better. Our identity is now changed.

Your old name may be weakness, sin, fear, doubt, poverty and other bad things inherited from Adam. The second Adam has changed your future literally. His name is Jesus, Lion of Judah, Word of Life, Provided, I am, Prince of Peace, The healer, The Truth, Resurrection and Life, The beginning and the end. Amen!

Begin to meditate on the names of the Lord Jesus. Whatever need you may have, the name of Jesus has the answer. All your need is wrapped up in a single package, "The name of Jesus". The name with all its power has been given to you.
