SUPERNATURAL PROVISION
By Jemima Rayan
Our God is a God of miracles.
We operate on 'Heaven's Economy' and therefore can have supernatural
provision. Our citizenship is in
Heaven. (Phil 3:20). Though we are in this world, the Bible
says we are not of this world. We have a different economy, which
is not governed by the changes in the world's economy.
Do the troubled economy, shortages
and scarcity around you bog you down? Train your eyes to see the
unlimited riches of God's kingdom. Wake up to the abundance in
Christ Jesus. The Bible says ' My
God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory'!
(Phil 4:19). Jesus said, 'I have come that they may have life,
and that they may have it more abundantly (John 10:10). Our
God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask
or think, according to the power that works in us. (Eph
3:20). We serve an abundant God. Amen!
Ravens brought food:
God took good care of Elijah,
the prophet when he went and stayed by the Brook Cherith at the
Word of the Lord. God had commanded the ravens to feed him there.
The ravens brought him bread and
meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening, and he
drank from the brook. (1Kings 17: 4,6) That servant of
God got the most sumptuous food when there was a drought in the
land. God has His own ways to supply your need
Fish brought money:
There was once Peter and His
Master needed money to pay their taxes. Jesus told Peter to go
to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first.
And that fish brought a 'piece of
money'. Jesus asked Peter to open its mouth and take the money
and pay the taxes for him and his Master. (Matt 17:24-27).
Isn't that amazing? Peter followed the Lord when Jesus told him
to. Supernatural provisions are given to people who follow the
Lord. Miracles happen in ways, which cannot be comprehended.
Who in the world would think
of the ravens and the fish when it comes to food and money? But
nothing puts a barrier on God. He can use just anything if He
wants to. So cheer up! God will make a way where there seems to
be no way.
The Bible says, '...The Lord
takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant' (Ps. 35:27) God
takes pleasure in blessing especially the ones who lay down their
time and resources for the Lord. If you are on God's business,
then, prosperity belongs to you. Don't listen to the lies of the
devil, which contradicts the Word of God.
Did you notice the pattern God
had in the lives of the children of Israel? When they were in
Egypt, they lived in lack. It was a condition when they had 'less
than enough'. But God took them through the wilderness, the Lord
provided for them, as they needed. This was a condition when they
had 'just enough'. But God's plan was to take them to a place
flowing with milk and honey. This is a condition, which is 'more
than enough'. God does not want to see you poor. That is why our
Lord Jesus Christ, though He was
rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His
poverty might become rich (2 Cor 8:9) Remove that poverty
mentality from your mind. God wants your prosperous. He
promised that He will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your
father. (Is 58:14) What is Jacob's heritage? Prosperity.
Gen. 30:43 says that 'Jacob became
exceedingly prosperous'. God made him so.
Powerful principles to activate
'Supernatural Provision':
1. Do what God tells you
to do:
Obedience is the key. The
prophet of God, Elijah went and did according to the Word of the
Lord. (1Kings 17:5) He did not reason with his mind. He did not
think about the drought when God asked him to go. He just did
what God wanted him to do. Such supernatural provisions will not
come to someone who is rebellious and wants to do what is pleasing
in the eyes of man. The Bible declares, 'If you are willing and
obedient, you will eat the good of the land'. (Is 1:19) Do you
want to eat the good of the land? Then, be obedient to the Word
of God. Do what God tells you to do.
2. Honor the Lord and His
servants:
Jesus said, 'Give
and it shall be given to you good measure, shaken together and
running over shall men put in your bosom...'( Lk 6:38)
This looks like no solution to the financial need you may have
in the natural. But as you honor the Lord with your giving, it
won't be long until the prosperity of God is poured out on you.
There was a widow who lived in
Zeraphath. Read 1 Kings 17: 8-16.
She was living in a time of famine. Today's crashing economy can
be compared to that famine. But that was the time, God sent His
servant on her way asking for some bread.(vs.11) She said,' I
do not have bread, only a hand full of flour in the bin, and a
little oil in a jar...(vs.12). The words 'do not have', 'hand
full' and 'a little' clearly indicates there was not much that
she had. That is when, Elijah asked her to make first cake and
bring it to him and after ward for herself and her son(vs.13).
This woman in spite of having a need for herself and her family
gave what the prophet of God asked her. Her attitude triggered
the miracle and the whole scenario was changed for the better.
She gave the prophet, that cake out of her need not out of her
abundance. The act of giving made the deficit to disappear. God
made a supernatural provision for her. And the
Bible says this widow, Elijah and her household ate for many days.
The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry
(vs.15,16). A generous soul will be made rich (Pro 11:25).
How true that is?
May the Lord supply all your
need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus according
to Phil 4:19. Amen.
