PROSPERITY AND SUCCESS

The Bible talks about God's plan for man to be prosperous and successful. It is by following God's word that we will make our way prosperous and have good success.

Joshua 1: 8 says, 'This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth; but you shall meditate in it day and night that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success '.

We may begin to think that this verse is true only for Joshua. No, it is not. It holds good for you too. This Word of God is written for every one of us and not to Joshua alone. The Word of God works for just anyone who will do what God instructs us to do.

Psalms 32:8 God says, 'I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye'. The way God works is that He shows us the way and it is our responsibility to walk in His ways. Are we seeking God's directions for our life?

Some people have a second thought if God ever wants us to prosper? Listen, it is God's will for us to prosper. If it were not God's will for us to prosper, He would not have shown the way to Joshua. In other words, God showed the way to success and prosperity to Joshua so that he will walk in it. We who read the Bible should believe God's words.

In the natural sense, why many people end up having sickness is because they do not eat right. In the same way many people end up not having prosperity and success is because they are not feeding on the Word of God. The right intake makes all the difference. Begin to feed on the Word of God today.

You are a spirit:

The man on the inside is the real you that became a new creature when you made Jesus the Lord of your life. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, 'Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.'

You live in a body:

Now that your spirit is born again, you have to make sure what do you do with your body. You cannot do just anything with your body. Our body becomes our responsibility. Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Romans 12:1 says, 'I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God which is your reasonable service'. If we want to walk in success, we must surrender our lives to God.

You have a soul:

Romans 12:2 says,' And be not conformed to this world; but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God'.

James 1:21 says,' Lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls'.

"Save your souls" is the key here. When we accept Jesus in our lives, it is not the soul that is saved but the spirit that is saved. But we need to save our soul. How do we save our soul? By meditating on the Word of God.

How do you make your way prosperous and be a good success?

Matthew 11:29 says,' Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls'. There is so much unrest in the minds of people and in their emotions because they have not taken God's yoke upon them or learned of Him. We can learn of God from His Word, the BIBLE.

Many Christians go to church, give some offering and wonder why their minds are full of fear and doubt. They toil so hard but not getting anywhere. They are in the same rut. What they fail to do is take the time to meditate on the word of God.

To make your way prosperous and be successful, what should you ponder on? The word of God! If we always think about the things that are happening around us, like the threats of terrorism or the failing economy, you cannot be a success. But instead, put the Word of God in you heart and that will make all the difference in your life. You have to take the extra effort to put the word in your heart and mind.

We don't have to wait till we get to heaven to become a success. The good news is, you can be a success right where you are by doing what God wants you to do. Thank God, we can have the success and prosperity right here in this earth. You may say, your situation is too bad for any success. No, with God all things are possible. There is nothing our God cannot do. Just believe in Him. Trust in His word. The Bible declares, we are more than conquerors, not just conquerors.

Romans 8:37 says, 'Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us'. Praise God!

Meditating on God's word gives us strength, boldness and hope. It gives peace and rest for our soul. God Word has the power to not only save us but also to renew our minds and to set us free from all kinds of bondages. When we meditate on the Word of God and diligently live according to what His Word says, then our way will be prosperous and we will have good success in every area of our life. Amen.
