POSSESS THE PROMISED LAND
God's plans for you are much
greater than what you could possibly ask or think. God has so
much in store for you. Never settle for anything less! You have
a promised land!
God wants you to ride on your
high hills:
Habbakkuk
3:19 says, 'The Lord is my strength; He will make my feet like
deer's feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.
Ps
18:33 says, 'He makes my feet like the feet of deer, And sets
me on my high places'
God wants us to reach our highest
potential. Notice the word 'my high
hills' and 'my high places'.
You have a promised land with your name written on it. When the
children of Israel came out of Egypt, they came out with the wealth
of Egypt. Exodus 12: 36 says, 'And
the Lord had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians,
so that they granted them what they requested. Thus they plundered
the Egyptians'.
We as children of the most High
God who are in Christ, are positioned in these last days to see
the wealth of the wicked transferred to the righteous. Some say,
oh, that verse refers only to the people of Israel. Listen, the
children of Israel are symbolic of God's people. Look at Pro
13:22. It says, '
the wealth of the sinner is stored up for
the righteous '.
Proverbs 10:22 says, "The
blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and he adds no sorrow with
it." Your blessing is on its way. God schedules your harvest
the moment you sow your money, time and skill in the kingdom of
God.
The devil puts greed and fear:
The devil uses two major tools
to stop believers from possessing what belongs to them. The evil
one tries his best to keep us from our Promised Land.
Greed does not only mean selfish
desire but it also means withholding what belong to God. It is
alarming to note that not even two percent of the body of Christ
tithe. This is nothing but greed. They think if they give one-tenth
to God, they will not have enough for themselves. The devil has
deceived the children of God by telling them what is not true.
God's word says, 'Bring all your
tithes into the storehouse' (Mal 3:10).
Fear is the anticipation of danger.
Ecc 11:4 says, 'He who observes the wind will not sow, and he
who regards the clouds will not reap'. If we see our circumstance
and give room to fear, doubt and unbelief, then the Bible says
we will not reap.
The devil will try so hard to
make you withhold your seed. But when you sow your seed in faith,
you will definitely reap your harvest. Get the seed in the ground
and you will get your harvest. Your greatest opposition comes
before your greatest breakthrough.
Start with Obedience:
The great prophet Samuel
said in 1 Sam 15:22, 'To obey is better than sacrifice'.
Getting a miracle from the hand
of God does not only depend on the magnitude of your sacrifice.
Before God sees your sacrifice, He is looking at the condition
of your heart. There is obedience behind every fulfillment of
promise. God wants to find you obedient 365 days, 24 hours a day.
The greatest prophet Moses could not get into the 'promised land'
because he failed to do what God wanted him to do. You could make
all the sacrifices in life, but if the divine will and purpose
of God is not lived through you, then all your sacrifice will
not mean a thing in the sight of God. There is a reward for every
step of obedience.
Some people simplify the whole
thing and say, think big, talk positively, and God will bless
you. God will do it for you. No! It takes obedience to step into
the Promised Land. God's promises are conditional and the condition
is obedience.
Step into your promised land:
God gives the inheritance but
you have to fight the good fight of faith to possess the land
and to dwell in it. It is not easy! God is with you all the time,
but you have a part to play.
Deuteronomy 26:1 reads,
'And it shall be, when you come into the land which the Lord your
God is giving you as an inheritance and you possess it and dwell
in it'.
Notice the words, "possess
and dwell". God wants us to 'posses' the land. What does
He mean? He means that we need to cast out the previous tenants
and make their possession ours. What previously belonged to previous
occupants now belongs to us.
Secondly, God wants us to 'dwell'
in the land that He gave us. The word 'dwell' means to acquire
the land. He wants us to make our habitation there. In the Bible
we notice that when someone dwells in a land, he digs wells and
begins to cultivate crops. If you want to dwell in the Promised
Land, begin to sow some seed and get ready for the harvest!
Jesus
said in Luke 4:21, "This day is this Scripture fulfilled
in your ears". Proclaim that today. Say, "I enter
the Promised Land". Never get comfortable with lack and think,
one day the Lord will hear my cry. No, He is the God of the 'now'.
Never settle for anything less than God's best for you!
May the Lord help you possess
your Promised Land. Amen.
