NO WEAPON WILL PROSPER
The word of God is our handbook
of how to overcome evil. The devil wants to steal, kill and destroy.
As a Christian, you are always at constant war with the devil.
The evil one works out schemes and strategies that would work
against you. One preacher said, 'the moment you invited Jesus
into your life, you showed up on the enemy's radar'. The Bible
says that, the enemy comes round and round to see whom he may
devour. 1 Pet 5:8 says, 'Be sober,
be vigilant; because our adversary the devil walks about like
a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour'.
Will good come out of evil?
No. Good never comes out of evil
because they are opposite terms. But the Bible says, 'And
we know that all things work together for good to them that love
God and to those who are called according to His purpose' (Rom
8: 28). This word refers to the circumstances and situations
we face. The Bible encourages us to give thanks in the midst of
the adversity. 1 Thes 5:18 says,
'In everything give thanks
' Notice the word
"in". It doesn't say to give thanks 'for' everything.
But in everything you can give thanks because God is good, all
the time. He has not changed at all.
The only good that comes out
of the evil situation is from God and not from the evil one. When
you have faith in God and say, 'Lord, I give you thanks in the
midst of my situation. You have made me more than a conqueror.
I will not be ashamed. I will be the head and not the tail' you
will defeat the enemy. Not only that you will see what the enemy
meant for evil, God turning it around for the good.
The Lord shall preserve you:
Psalm
121: 7 says, 'The Lord shall preserve you from all evil'. Vs.
8 says, ' He shall preserve your soul'. The Lord shall preserve
your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even
forever more'. God wants to guard, protect and keep you
from all harm and danger. Our God is in the preserving business.
He wants to safeguard your thoughts, your will and your emotions.
Ps
54:7 says, 'No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every
tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness
is from Me, says the Lord'.
The Bible does not say that there
will not be any weapon formed against you. It assures you that
the weapon formed against you will not prosper. Between you and
the weapon (of the enemy), there is the Lord God Almighty. God
is all around you. God is round about His people. And no evil
can cross the power of God and touch us. Hallelujah!
Isaiah
49:25 says, ' I will contend with him who contends with you, and
I will save your children'. Are you concerned about your children?
God goes for battle every time the enemy shows up. God looks at
your enemy as His own. An attack against you is an attack against
the Lord God Almighty. So, take heart! The Lord shall preserve
you!
Saints of God needed deliverance:
The great saints of God in the
Bible were not robots that did not have any adversity. They faced
difficulties, persecution and afflictions. In all this, God did
not send the persecution and adversity. God cannot give anything
evil. Listen, you need to understand this clearly. The Bible says
that God does not tempt any one with evil (James 1: 13). If He
does, then why would He ever deliver His children of that which
he has given?
David prayed for deliverance.
Ps 70:1 says, 'Make haste, O God, to deliver me! Make haste to
help me, O Lord! Ps 71:2 says, 'Deliver me in Your righteousness,
and cause me to escape.
Paul asked the believers to pray
for him that he be delivered from the evil people. Yes, we cannot
deny the fact that evil is there in this world. Paul say, 'Persecutions,
afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra;
what persecutions I endured; but out of them all, the Lord delivered
me (2 Timothy 3:11). Paul knew what God would do for him.
Even though he saw afflictions and persecutions, he was very confident
that God would come through, for him. He knew God as the one who
deliveres. He says in 2 Tim 4:18,
'And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve
me for His heavenly kingdom'.
The Lord will deliver you from
all evil:
Jesus taught the disciples to
pray in Matt: 6:13, 'Deliver us
from the evil one'. Jesus prayed for His disciples in John
17:15, '
that You should keep
them from the evil one'. 2
Thes 3:3, 'But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and
guard you from the evil one'. What is your prayer? Do
you pray that God will deliver you from evil? What most people
do when they face adversity is, they start blaming this and that.
They blame the people around. They say, 'Oh I do not have what
it takes'. I am in the wrong place; I married the wrong person
and so on and so forth. God does not want us to be complaining
and nagging. He wants you to be strong and full of courage.
God told Joshua in Joshua
1:5 says, 'No man shall be able to stand before you all the days
of your life; as I was with Moses so I will be with you. I will
not leave you nor forsake you'. You can be rest assured
that the God who was with Joshua is with you. You need not be
afraid. God has not changed. He is just as committed to you as
He was to Moses and Joshua. What He promised to the saints in
the Bible holds good for you today. Cheer up! God is on your side.
If God be for you who can be against you?
May the Lord deliver us
from the evil one in Jesus' name. Amen.
