GIANT KILLING GENERATION
By Jemima Rayan
David faced a giant in his life
one time. Even today we face giants in our life. Giants like sin,
sickness, fear, financial condition always try to put us down.
God is calling Davids today who will not only face these giants
but will killing them. God is raising up a victorious generation,
which will triumph.
Keys to slay the 'giants'
in your life.
1. The oil of anointing
needs to be poured on you:
In 1Sam 16:13, Samuel
the prophet pours the anointing oil upon David. David kills
Goliath, a giant in chapter 17. We face Goliaths in our life but
we cannot kill the enemy without the anointing in our life. Is
10:27 says...yoke will be destroyed
because of the anointing oil. When the Holy Spirit comes upon
you, you shall receive power (Acts 1:8)
Do you have the anointing of
the Holy Spirit? The Lord Jesus wants you to be charged with the
power of God to destroy the giants. You need the burden removing
and yoke destroying anointing in your life! Ask God to fill you
with the Holy Sprit and power right now.
2. Fear and intimidation
needs to be eliminated:
For 40 days, Goliath held captive
the army of Israel. 1Sam 17:4-8 talks about the height of Goliath,
the size of his armor and spear. Goliath was a champion. He was
challenging and even threatening the children of God. When
Saul and all the Israel heard the threatening words of the Philistine,
they were dismayed and greatly afraid (Vs 11)
In the same way most of the Christians
are tied to their pews for years and years because they allow
the enemy to intimidate them. The Bible says that the enemy is
like a roaring lion. (1Pet 5:8) They see the enemy and give room
to fear and intimidation. Little did they know that greater is
He that is in them is greater than he that is in the world
(1 John 4:4). Do not get intimidated with your situations.
3. Kill the smaller enemies
first:
David killed a lion and a bear
first before killing the giant. David was in his fathers business.
1 Sam 17:34 says, David said to
Saul, 'Your servant used to keep his father's sheep and when a
lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, I went out
after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth;
and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck
and 'killed' it.
Are you in your Father's business
first? If so, do you kill those smaller enemies which come to
you? We must catch those little
foxes that spoil the vines (Songs 2:15) The little foxes
represents life's problems which have to be dealt with. You have
to identify such small enemies that lurk around like lions and
bears. Dare to kill them in Jesus' name.
4. Your bag must not be
empty:
1Sam 17:40 says...he
chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them
in a shepherd's bag. David was ready for the battle. He
did not tell the Philistine to wait for some time till he is ready
for the battle. How dangerous it would have been if David had
his bag empty that day?
Stones represent the word of
God. The problem with today's church is that they do not have
the 'word of God' in their hearts. They don't have the time for
God. They are too busy to meditate the word of God. David says,
'I have hidden Your Word in my heart'. Dear child of God, the
word of God is the weapon God has given you. The Bible declares,
'the word of God' is the sword of
the Spirit (Eph 5:17) Do you have stones in your bag? If
not, make a decision to put the 'word of God' in your heart.
5. Do not despise those
small pebbles:
David said to the Philistine,"
You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin.
But I come to you in the name of
the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel.... for the
battle is the Lord's (1Sam 17:45-47) David knew that it
is the Lord who does the battle. He did not care about the kind
of armor the Philistine had. David knew what his God can do.
Are you underestimating yourself?
You just don't know what those pebbles can do. The 'word of God'
is so powerful. Release those words by confessing them. The 'pebbles
released from your hand' will become a 'bullet released from a
machine gun' in the hands of God. To release is your part but
to hit the target is God's part. The Holy Spirit will enable the
pebble to hit the giant at the strategic point and kill him. The
Bible says, 'David took the head
of the Philistine and brought it to Jerusalem' (1Sam 17:54).
May the Lord raise up an army,
which will sever the head of the enemy. Amen.
